8.1 Proxy settings

Hi All

No problems with windows 8. I quite like it. Upgraded too 8.1 and now get the following problem.

All browsers and email work except IE11 metro. If I go to Charms/Settings/Change PC Settings/Network/Proxy I find that Auto detect is off and Manual settings is on. In the field Address I have the text "http=127.0.0.1:49236;https=127.0.0.1:49236", port is blank and the field below has "<-loopback>". If I reset to "Auto detect" = "On", and "Manual" is "OFF", IE11 works fine.

My problem is that when I reboot, settings revert back to manual again, and I have to reset to Auto, even though I click "SAVE".

Any ideas

Are any Proxy Settings in IE (Desktop Application) overriding anything you set for the Metro IE?

Do you dabble with Registry Cleaners or "Boosters"? They often cause weird problems.

What happens if you create and test with another Windows user?





See if the program can diagnose any problems and fix them.

Sorry it took so long to answer you. Had a power supply fail and then a holiday

Don't use any register cleaners.
Login with a windows user.
Created a new windows user and that works fine.
