I called support on this and they showed me how to change the boot location to /partiotion1/. After I booted to the old version I upgraded the system. after the upgrade I was able to log back into the system. Once logged in I changed my IP address on the MXe so we could retrieve licenses. At this point the system keeps stopping at "Establishing communication with l2 subsystem" All Hard disk activity has stopped. any ideas? mitel KB shows nothing for subsystem when you search there.
