8.0 Embedded Voice Mail Email Ip Address 3

Hello, I have set up a few IPOs at 9.1 and have no trouble getting the VMEM to work using a Gmail account. I have a site that is using 8.0 and instead of the "Server Address" it says "IP Address" and I am unable to type in "smtp.gmail.com" words because it will only take an IP address of "0.0.0.0.0".

I tried to see if there are numbers that I could use for Gmail but I could not find information or a thread on this site on how to configure this field.

If you ping a domain will get the IP address and I get 74.125.133.109 but of course this could change.

I got this address but it did not work. 74.125.133.109. I wonder if I need a license for 8.0 for this feature? Although I thought that sending the error log and system status alerts was automatically included with IPO on any SW level.

no license needed. How did you set this up? Are you using an account you have set up and using the same username and password. It should work if all is set up correctly. Also make sure you use port 587. Do you have the default IP route set up in the IPO?

You need TLS support for gmail to work. I don't think R8 supports tls. I think it started with R9.

That makes sense since all of my 9.0 forward work easily with Gmail. Thank you all.
