Hey guys,
tech support has gone for the day, wondering what the deal is, can't seem to find the answer on google ;)
I'm setting up an IPO R 8.0 (18) with Digital 8 and Legacy carrier w/ATM4. IPO mode it says I need a license, Basic mode it doesn't but its not seeing my legacy carrier with an ATM4 attached.
IPO mode it sees the carrier just fine. Will Basic mode not detect Legacy carriers? I've never heard the contrary, just wondering.
Don't want to fork out $ for a license if I don't have too, but cheaper than getting a combo card or ATM to attach to Digital 8.

Maybe a legacy card is not supported at all in Basic mode.
The docs are as clear as thick mud: in one part ( installation ) they discribe the legacy card in the Basic mode docs but when looking at the "system components"> "IP500 Base Cards" there is no legacy card listed.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

It's always best to avoid Basic mode, for your own sanity, ease of maintenance and customer benefit to name but a few reasons :)

Thats what I saw too. Starting to do the 'ol shifty eye/scratch the head thing.

The R8 Matrix states you need essential edition for legacy card carriers.

You may have to bring it down to R7 to get around the essential license issue.
