We have had some executive phones with the following setup for a few years, and now are starting to see problems. Any suggestions or experience with this issue?
Our executives have 7962G phones. The phones are powered via PoE from a 3560 switch. Each phone has a 7915 expansion module, connected via the aux port and powered locally by a power cube. Each executive also uses a Plantronics headset with switchhook adapter (APC-4). The APC - 4 cord won't reach the available aux port on the expansion module, so a simple cable extender is used.
This configuration has been working for more than two years, but over the last few months the headset switch hooks and expansion modules have been unreliable.
Does anyone else have a similar setup? Is there a better design to accomplish what we are trying to achieve?
