7960 phone

I am looking for some way for a 7960 phone to supply a closure when it is off hook. I have a police department radio dispatch room that uses Motorola radio equipment and they currently share a head-set with the Nortel system we are replacing. The Nortel phone will supply a normally open contact and a closure on that contact when the phone goes off hook. When the radio board sees the closure it then cuts the voice from the phone thru to the headset. The headset also has a push to talk button that will cut over the phone and allow radio use without disconnecting the caller. I need to duplicate this with the 7960 phone.

Is the Nortel phone an analog set or a digital set?

The Nortel is digital with a off-hook adaptor connected to it.

By off hook adapter are you speaking of the mechanical handset lifter?

No it is not a mechanical device it works of the digital signal on the Nortel. But Im not trying to reuse that device I need a closure off the Cisco 7960 phone. The Nortel equipment is coming out.
