7942 Phone registration

I copied an exisiting 7942 template and created a new user/ phone in callmanager 7.1 (Changed MAC & description, Etc). Plugged it in and it won't get passed "Configuring IP" status on the phone. Verified IP settings on the phone. What am I missing? Let me just add..it was pretty much throwin' at me with no formal training. This is our first IP system and is tied into our Nortel 81c, thanks for the help in advance!
 
It does take a few minute for the phone to actually boot up; You may want to ensure that you are using the correct firmware or even try unplug the replug the ethernet cable.
 
The fact that is stuck on configuring ip means it is not getting an ip address which means it is not getting to the right vlan. is your switch port configured properly?
