Having an issue with a 7937 conference phone. Trying to test conference calling on it. I dial one phone, press conference dial the 2nd phone then when i press conference to join them together it says no conference bridge. Any thoughts on something im missing?

Cisco call manager 6.0. I have created a conference hardware bridge with mac addy of the conference phone. Still says no conference bridge when trying to connect the two calls.

The 7937 is like most other desk phones were it can only process one audio stream at a time. So if you want to conference two calls together, they need to be mixed at a central point. Generally it's best to use a conference bridge device like DSPs on a Cisco IOS router. You can however use the CallManager servers themselves to do this mixing (all calls must be G.711). When you look under the Conference Bridge section, you should see your CallManagers listed as a Software Conference Bridge. You need to make sure there is a Media Resource Group that has them added. Then add that Media Resource Group to a Media Resource Group List. Finally, add that Media Resource Group List to your Device Pool or the device itself. Now when you do a conference, the CallManager will be able to reference the bridges and utilize them to join the calls together.

HmmG3 - almost where I need to be. Created the conference bridge of Cisco IOS Conference Bridge, added this to a media resource group, then put the group on media resource group list then added list to phone itself and default phone profile. The conference phone still says no conference bridge when trying to connect the two calls. The only thing I havent checked is that all calls are using G.711 as I have not found where to check this yet in my Cisco call manager.

Are any of the conference bridges showing as registered? If you added an IOS Conference Bridge, does it show as active when you use the command "show dspfarm all"? Did you reset the phone after adding the MRGL?

None of them show registered they just say unknown. I tried the command show dspfarm all and dspfarm isnt an option for the show command. After adding the phone to the group I did reboot the phone.

Assuming you have a DSP in that router, you still have to configure it to register to the CallManager. Here's an example on how to configure DSPs (you can ignore the sections on dial-peers):

If your CallManager software bridge isn't registered, then make sure the "Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming App" is enabled under the Service Activation page under Serviceability. Using the software bridge is the easiest to configure as there's not much to it once you turn on the service. But as mentioned before, it only works if all calls are G.711.

Got it. It was the IP Voice media streaming app that i missed turning on. Now all is working. Thanks for all your help HmmmG3
