We had upgraded to 4.0 on our CM and updated the sets to firmware 6.0. Then our service agreement expired. We were ok with it but now want to use an expanison module we were'nt using and apparently it needs a firmware upgrade from S00104000000 to S00104000100. Thats all we can figure out on why its not working. It is not recognized by CM, we can't do any programming for the expansion module. Expanions module is recognized by the 7960 under status.

Do we really have to buy a service agreement to get an existing expansion module working? Anywhere we can get the firmware upgrade named: cmterm-7914-sccp.4-0-1.exe ? Our CM account no longer works on cisco.com

Of course appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks in advance.

In ccm 4 to configure your expansion unit you will need to change your phone button template to show the additional lines or speed dials of the 7914. In previous version of call manager there was a specific 7914 button template.

Go to Device, device settings, phone button template.

Select a button template or create a new one and add in the extra lines or speed dials as required to replicate your 7914.

After that ensure the phone that has the expansion unit has been selected for 7914 expanion module as well, this is done in the actual phone configuration

hope this helps let me know how you get on

You are exactly right. That was the problem. I couldn't find that in any documentation I searched for.

Thanks for your help!
