Hi,

I have a 7914 Expansion module installed next to my 7960. The expansion module seems to be working fine ... besides the lights...
According to Cisco documentation the lights should do as follows:

Off/dark Line available
Green, steady Line in use by you; you may also transfer the call
Red, steady Line in use by someone else
Amber, flashing Line ringing
Green, flashing You have the call on hold
Red, flashing Someone else has the call on hold

The lights on my expansion module only seem to be doing two things....
1) Off is the line is available
2) solid red for everything else

These are some extracts from my config:
CONFIG (Version=4.0(1))
=====================
Version 4.0(1)
Cisco CallManager Express
load 7914 S00104000100
load 7960-7940 P0030702T023

It seems to me that I am using the correct firmware??

The 7960 attached to the expansion module is working properly.

Any ideas why the lights are not changing colours?

Thank you

I found this to be a Security setting issue in CallManager. Don't know if there is such a thing in CME.

Do you have a local power brick connected to the 7914? I had one that worked similar with no local power.

can you post ephone part of your configuration?
i shoul be like this:
ephone 10
username "****" password ******
mac-address ************
type 7960 addon 1 7914 2 7914
button 1:3 7m12 8m7 9m4
button 10m8 11m24 12m16 13m13
button 14m15 15m1 16m26 17m10
button 18m11 19m6 20m14 21m2
button 22m5 23m17 24m25 25m33
button 26m9 27m21
!

If it does, maybe you are not using right separator:

LINE button-index:dn-index pairs example 1:2 2:5
Configuration line:button with separator feature options:
: normal phone lines
example button 1:2 2:5
s silent ring, ringer muted, call waiting beep muted
example button 1s2 2s5
b silent ring, ringer muted, call waiting beep not muted
example button 1b2 2b5
f feature ring
example button 1f2 2f5
see also 'no dnd feature-ring'
m monitor line, silent ring, call waiting display suppressed
example button 1m2 2m5
see also 'transfer-system full-consult dss'
o overlay lines, combine multiple lines per physical button
example button 1o2,3,4,5
c overlay call-waiting, combine multiple lines per physical button
example button 1c2,3,4,5
see also 'huntstop channel' for ephone-dn dual-line
x expansion/overflow, define additional expansion lines that are
used when the primary line for an overlay button is
occupied by an active call
Expansion works with 'button o' and not with 'button c'
example button 4o21,22,23,24,25
button 5x4
button 6x4
Different separator options may be use for each button
example button 1:2 2s5 3b7 4f9 5m22
