7912 Flash or Ring?

Hey Guy’s
I am running CCM 4.0(2)a. We have 7912 in a classroom environment and would like to have the phones flash not ring. On the line configuration the ring setting is not available for this device. It is a configurable choice for the 7940 and 7960’s to ring, ring once, flash and so on….In CCM 3.4 it is also a configurable choice for the 7912’s sets…I kind of have a big problem if we can’t change to flash…Any advise will be greatly appreciated ….Thanks in Advance!

Nope. Can't do it. We have a limited number of 7912s deployed in small offices and the only way to turn off the ringer is to, well, turn DOWN the ringer, manually. Hopefully this will change in a future firmware update, but I'm not holding my breath. Afterall, Cisco wants you buying their 7940, not 7912. You get a microphone with the 7940 as well. Ooooh. Aaaah. <grin>

Well that sucks, I hope that Cisco will buy back all of the 7912 that we deployed
