7406 on older 3x8?

Tried proven and tested. M7324s don't work on 3X8 Dr1s.

Funny thing because we tested in the tech center and the same result everytime...on anything under DR5 we would here static noise on the handset but clean as a whistle on the DR5, this testing was done after our sales department comlained every time they did a demo on somebodies 3x8 they would experience this problem.
Very strange!

Got one on a DR1 in service no trouble. As you say strange. Sprucegrover just posted that the cordless is off again. ?? Cordless on, Cordless off.

Nortel Networks has advised that the T7406 charge stand can overheat resulting in the minor deformation of the plastic on the stand and the battery housing.

Most T7406 sets are unaffected, however the scope of the issue has not been defined. Nortel has made the decision to stop shipping the product until the following information is available:

§ Dates that defective product may have been sold
§ Symptoms resulting from the product defect
§ Details of resolution: process, dates, etc.




Whether or not they return remains to be seen, but for my money, they won't be missed very much. When they work, they are great. That just isn't often enough. My personal experience has been that an analog 2.4Gig cordless is adequate in most scenarios. Warehouse people, forklift operators, shipper/recievers don't generally need access to all of the Norstar features to require a T7406. Just my humble opinion...;-)

Damn. It's hard to be bumble! I share your opinion to the Nth. Cordless is great but.... Now if I could just get to the bottom of the Companion On/Off issue... Curlycord says it's on,,, my suppliers says it's off.... Nortel site hasn't put it into the discontinued sections yet...????Ecccccccccch?????????
