I have had several sets stop working the past month on a bcm50 rel 3(upgraded from a release 1). The phone works fine on the speaker but if you pick up the handset you hear no dial tone and can't press any buttons on the phone. Swapped handsets and handset cords. Seems like maybe a switch hook problem . 3 phones in a month have had same issue and all different extensions.
 
Are they Nortel branded sets or Avaya branded sets. I saw an earlier post reflecting problems related to the Avaya sets, the poster was advised to get earlier rls of sets.


Avaya/Nortel/NEC/Asterisk/Access Control/CCTV/DSX/Acti/UCx
 
They are Nortel branded phones, have been in for about 5 years
 
are they on the internal bcm or on an expansion cabinet?
