I have a single set on a 75+ set system that decides to drop calls, reboot, whatever. I wanted to swap the phone with a known good set, yet keep the current extension. If the phone doesn't have set relocation turned on, will the new phone update to it's new extension? Is all extension information contained within the set or the "switch/ksu"?

Set relocate is a system wide feature. If it`s set to yes, the ext moves with the phone. If its set to no the ext will remain at the jack. If you replace it with another 7310, it will keep its ext and button programming. If you replace it with another type, the ext will remain the same but programmable buttons will change. You may want to try moving the line cord around to see if it is just a defective cord, as is the case a majority of the time.

First phone unplugged needs to be the first reinstalled to help eliminate trouble like this. Jeter@LasVegas.com
