I'm so ticked. I wrote, and failed, the 70-300 exam (MSF Architecture/Design for MCSD .NET certification).
The exam consists of three case studies and subsequent questions (approx 10/case study). The difference between this one and the other MCAD/MCSD exams is that your time limit is based PER CASE STUDY, and you can't go back to an earlier case once you've completed it. Time usually ranged between 30 - 40 minutes per case.
I felt good about the first one, not so good about the second one, and really good about the third one. But my score ended up being 583 (passing is 700). I realized my error afterwards, and hope someone can benefit from my mistake:
The case study screen is broken up into these areas:
Overview
Existing IT Infrastructure
Interviews (where mock interview notes are given)
Business Processes
When you look at the interviews, make SURE that you note the radio buttons along the top. Some of these case studies have differnet people interviewed (IT managers, end users, etc), and you have to select each radio button to view their notes. I must have missed it, and based all my knowledge of the case on what the end users desired and not what the decision makers demanded...I know that if I would have read those, that I would have had a better shot at passing.
ARGH! Luckily Microsoft has that free second chance thing...but be warned: there are something like 12 different case studies that they pool from, so you're not guaranteed to have the same case studies on your rewrite.
Hopefully the 70-310 next week goes better...
