I have already completed exams 70-270 and 70-290, heading towards my MCSE 2003. I am not very strong on DNS, has anyone here left the 70-291 until the end and continue on with the rest of the exams ? Or should I just dive in with my head up for 291 ?

Thanks
Colin

It's recommended that you take the exams in order as each exam builds on the material covered in the previous exams.

I agree with Denny, topics covered is 291, such as dns, dhcp, CA, RRAS, subnetting etc are all covered in the following exams in some way or another. wheter it's the 2nd Network Infrastructure exam (293), AD (294), exchange (284 and the exam I'm doing now), or 297, AD design.
The topics covered in 291, especially DNS will help you in every day troubleshooting so is a must to get your head around asap.
It is the hardest exam I've sat so far, there's no getting away from that, but once you understand the topics it covers, everything else just sits on top.
I was at an AD workshop this week at Microsoft and all the instructor kept saying was how important DNS was.

Good luck with 291, and if you're stick post back and we'll try and help

Its a good idea get 291 in before 293, as the content is similar and you'll have a better grounding in the basics.

I did 291/293 a few weeks ago, now I'm beginning to think I should have done 294 before either of them, as I got asked a fair few questions that where AD related and not in the objectives for exam.

From what I remember of the DNS questions its important to know when to implement particular DNS types like AD integrated or stub zones etc. Measure-up test software had some pretty good simulation practise questions so consider getting that too.

Hope this is of some use to you, good luck!
