70-228 SQL Administrator Cert

Some time this year I will be taking the SQL 70-228 certification. What I am using as a study tool is the VTC from SYBEX (MCSE SQL Server Administration VTC) its a practice test, has anyone ever used this before. And does anyone have any tips for me..I really want this certification I dont want to fail.

I read through the Micorosft Press book (big blue series of books) before taking the test, and passed first time.

Some hands on experience with production SQL Servers will be VERY handy for passing this test. Being a DBA for a few years already I had the experience I needed which definetly helped.

Thank you Mrdenny, thats not the first time I've heard that about the microsoft press books. Well that settles it I'm going to have to get those books. I've been working in sql for about a year now and I've learned alot through working in it. I'm the one who designs all our departments databases.

If you've been working with it for a year, so should be ok. I'd read the book though. It may come in handy. With SQL it's good to know the Microsoft way of doing things since that's whats on the tests.

and know some dbcc commands too......
and optimising performance (raid disks, log file placement etc...)

and user permissions...

wow thanks guys, I hear the 70-228 cert test is a hard one to take. I will be taking mine at coleman college its not in adaptive form.
