70-210 & 70-215 2

Hi,

I'm a Network Engineer of some years (CCNP) and have just started on the Microsoft track as part of a University Diploma I am studying for. As part of the first semester I need to pass the 70-210 and 70-215 exams. I have a little experience from things I've picked up from our Server Admins along the way (as you do) and I've just attended a Microsoft training course "Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server".

I have a desktop at home which I'm going to install W2K Advanced Server on and a laptop which will serve as a W2K Pro client. I was considering 2 weeks or so of revision using the course notes plus using exam-prep / test engines available via the web and then taking both exams on the same day or perhaps over two days. Does this set off any major alarm bells for those of you that have passed the W2K Pro and Server exams?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I would not take both tests on the same day. At minimum, give yourself a day for each. I found that the tests take a fair amount of emotional energy.

Also those two tests are different enough that having extra review time for each one would be helpful.

That being said, I have heard of people taking two tests on the same day and passing them. I am not sure that I could or would want to do that myself.

Yeah, I passed 210 and failed 215. Now taking 215 after a few months.. How difficult is 215 and what's the passmark?

Given your experience as an CCNP, I would pressume you have your CCNA as well. Even with that experiance I wou;d suggest that you take the 210 and give yourself at least two days if not two weeks before taking the 215. While they do overlap alot the difference between the two test are enough to warrent taking the time to hone in on the server side, especially with gpo's and permission inhertance.

The longest 30 seconds always occurs when you wait for the congradulations you passed screen.
