Of those who have upgraded, would you do it again??

Yeah, to a different app written in a leaner, less resource dependant style. Sorry to say, but this old house is just dated and clunky (slow and resource intensive). It's an obvious hodge podge of old code loaded with unnecessary logic and conversions.

.300a brings enhancements with it but it really depends on which modules you're using and/or trying to integrate. For us, it was deemed necessary for fixing bugs prior to bringing Shop Floor Control aboard but it brought lots of upgrade headaches with it that affected our existing modules and the enhancements seem extraneous. Just an opinion.

Otherwise, it's ok I guess. It stills does it's basic job regardless of it's myriad of gremlins....

The upgrade to 76300a is a piece of cake, and is not in any way the huge deal that prior upgrades, especially the upgrade to 7.6.200, were.

If there is a patch in 76300a you need, I'd upgrade. If there isn't I wouldn't.

Roller8, I'd love to know what the 76300 upgrade affected fot you, provided that you do not have modified source code. Please elaborate.

dgills, It's been a little while now since the upgrade and I really wish I could remember details here since you might have some insight on them. Before I go into it I'm going to dig around and see if I can find some notes. In the least it may benefit others taking this path soon.

The biggest challenge from 100a to 200/300 etc has been the slowed performance using the dlls, IMHO. There is another thread on here somewhere referencing virus scanning creating some of this slowness. Printing has also been problematic in versions > 100a.
