7.6.300 Credit Card Processing

We tried using this at a site on 7.6.100a when this functionality came from Peak Best OE which macola has now made their own. IC verify is the CC clearing house & it will only authorize, you can't capture the cc info & submit at POS rather than point of order entry, so this solution did not work for us. I had asked Peak over a year ago if they would explore trying another clearing house so we could have more options, but they couldn't commite unless there was a sufficiently large audience to underwrite the development. So, unless macola did significant upgrades to Peak's original program, I suspect the solution has not evolved yet into what most of my clients would be looking for.
After seeing the webinar for 7.6.3 we decided that we would not be able to use the credit card processing for the same reason. It is hard to charge credit cards at the order entry side - especially if you are not sure it will ship complete. I know they said they could just authorize the cards but we got into trouble with that. The bank charged us large fees if you didn't convert the authorization to a charge within 48 hours. Please let me know if anyone has experience to the contrary with this, because we would like to use this functionality.
