We are experiencing a problem with Macola sessions on a Citrix Metaframe farm.
The majority of our Macola ICA clients access the Shop Floor Control, Activity Transaction screen.
From time to time one or more of the client sessions will freeze, inspection of the terminal server shows that
Macexe.exe is utilizing 50% of the CPU. It stays that way until the process is "killed".
This happens with LAN clients on terminals (thin clients) WAN clients on thin clients and WAN clients
using PC's. It has happened on Metframe PS3 on W2K server and also on Metaframe 1.8 on Win NT platform.
It does not appear to affect our non terminal server clients, however having said that most of the non terminal server clients are also
Non Activity Transaction screen users.
Initially the problem seemed related to some flexibility code modifications associated with the Act. Trx. screen
but it has also happened to clients on a separate database who do not have flex modifications.
The only common thread in all of this appears to be Macola and Citrix sessions.
