7.3 will not boot(installation); 5.2 will...

I downloaded Redhat's 1st disk from ftp and burned it onto cdrom. The computer is not booting(installation) from the cd. when I use the old 5.2 version install disk, it does boot. THe file on the cd is...valhalla-i386-disc1.iso

I even tried putting the boot.img file on the cd as well(Red Hat says boot.img is not even be needed for cd install boot). Still no luck.

What am i doing wrong??

Did you burn the file as an image or just copy the file on to the CD?

You need to burn the image as an ISO (CD Image) so the contents of the image are extracted onto the CD.

What writing software are you using?

I use Nero to burn ISO images.

In Nero, File - Burn Image - browse for the .iso file.
