Backup Exec Ver 7.01 on NT4 server
We are running a script to copy files across the network to the D: drive on the server before the backup begins then backup exec backs up the d: drive. It seems that recently the amount of data moving across the network has increased causing the script to take more time. We have it set up in our job definition to run the script before the backup begins. After 30 minuits the job fails and Backup exec reports the following error:

Error: Pre Job Command did not complete in time

Is there any way to increase the time Backup exec allows the script to run before failing the job??

Yes there is. If you edit the registry. Go the Hkey_local_machine/software
(depending on the version of back exec you are running it varies from here)
/veritas/Backup Exec/Engine/Misc/Job - Pre/Post Command Timeout

Then edit the entry (make sure to change it to decimal when you put it in). The entry is in minutes.
