Newbie here... with a few Q's about our 6x16:

1. Will the M7324 work with it? If so, will it show if any user is using their handset?

2. Can the "Line" buttons be reassigned? Specifically, we have 4 lines, but I want a certain set of phones to get only "Line 4" when they push the "Line 1" button. Can this be programmed per unit?

3. Can an M7100 be programmed to only allow local or toll-free calls while allowing rest of system to be free of restrictions? (Set-specific restrictions)

Thanks for ur help!

There is a specific forum for the Norstars, you are asking in the PBX forum but I will try to give you correct answers lol

1. Yes if you program the buttons on the set.

2. Yes you can program any of the phones to have access to only the lines you want, you can change the buttons so it says the appropriate line number.

3. Yes restrictions can be implemented, I think depending on the software release.

Item 3: Yes it's called restriction filters. You have to build the restriction filter then apply that filter to the specific DNs. Filter 01 usually has the common restrictions already entered (1, 0,411, etc).

Item 1: You'll have to pgm internal autodials on the set (feature 2).

can you log in to the set? even without any passwords, feature star 0, 1 2 and 3 will show line, change the location of feature keys and autodials.. to change lines i think (mem shortage).. you need to log into as administrator... those passwords are in the book

Thanks everyone! I know how to get into admin and config, just wasn't sure how to pgm the DNs, etc.

I'll try some things today. I'm using a phone to program the system and I have a wiring diagram, and a basic program guide, but nothing detailed.

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum, but thanks so much for your responses!

as long as you can get in.. go to lines, scan each set then use the soft key to appear, ring or appear and ring.. the 1st one i put in.. 20+ years ago i had the same thing.. along with a bunch of kids to raise... somewhere in that book is a tree of all the program area's.. it will usually prove to be the fastest way to learn your way around...

it's a pretty decent little key system.. restriction is handled poorly, other then that it's simple enough
