Anyone know what to replace it with?
Refurb Supply lists a 1F 5.5V for the 8x24, but I don't know if it's the same one used for the 6x16.

I'd like them to upgrade to a CICS, but they are way too cheap for that.

Thanks,
Rob

The older 6x16 had a 5.5v battery inside the unit. Say you have a newer 6X16 with DR5, change the battery in the Software cartdige. The batters for the 6X16 are the same as the 8X24.

Right. If the software is DR1 the large cap on the motherboard must be replaced. This one is about as wide as a quarter. DR2 or DR5 you replace the cap in the software cartridge. This one is about as wide as a nickel.
