I was looking here:

I noticed that the cards they ran were the 6800 GT and 6800 ultra.

I'm looking at buying a new Dell in the near future. The otpions for grahpics cards are

128MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon™ X300 SE

256MB PCI Express™ x16 Nvidia® GeForce 6800 GTO Graphics Card [add $330 or $10/month1]

256MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) nVidia GeForce 6800 [add $180 or $6/month1]

I can't seem to see how the 6800 compares to the GT and i can't find anything on the GTO. I'd like to know what the GTO has to justify a $150 higher price than the 6800. I'd also like to know how a regular 6800 ranks with a gt.

Thanks in advance.

You need to read this.

As a rapid summary, the GTo model is a 12-pipeline GPU with 5 vertes shaders, whereas the GT and Ultra models are 16-pipeline GPUs with 6 vertex shaders.

The obvious consequence is the the GTo is the lesser performer. The importance you attach to this fact is up to you to determine.

Pascal.

Great reading, thank you!!!

the article was great to show ultra vs gto.

6800 Ultra toned down to somewhere between GT and Non Ultra
So I'm assuming even with the 12/5 vs the 16/6 it was still a better performer than the GT. Aside from that quote it didn't say much about a standard GT.
