When I configure the IP address on one of the port and try enabling the port, I find myself having to reset the module. This is the only way the port can start forwading. Should I be configuring these ports for portfast??

How is the 6608 integrated with your phone system (CCM, CCME, or Legacy/PBX)?

If you search Cisco's site for 6608, you'll find tons of setup manuals for legacy PBX's. Here's the link for setting up a 6608 as a T1/PRI gateway in CCM, and the commands for setting it up on the 6608:
