I know, I know....this is an old product and has been discontinued for years, I have one out there. My customer wants to migrate this to a 1U server from the original unit supplied by mitel which is a tower case. Anybody ever done this before ? Any issues ?

Thanks

Good luck finding a 1U server that will accommodate the line cards.

I thought the ports were programmed as IP phones or emulate DNIC's ? Been a while since I built one of these. Line cards ?

Yes I have one on an hp DL320 G2 server, Its running on Server 2000 not sure if it can go on 2003 or not, Its not hard to install just need to make sure you have your license and the software. Its uses IP Phone emulation so no cards needed anymore.

It can only run on server 2000, as far as I know. Thanks for the verification boycey9.

My fading recollection of this was something called "SPEAK@EASE" and in its earliest form I thought it had line cards in it that emulated the old SS4 (COV) sets. Obviously I'm confused. It's been a very long time since I've seen one.

What does it use for licensing. If its some type of dongle on a parallel port or usb port then your new server would need the appropriate hardware.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
