Can anyone confirm that the following issue has been resolved in 4.2.37:

CQ121475 Problem installing TAPI onto a Windows 7 64bit OS - Appears to install but cannot select IPO line.

That is what the docs say so you can count on that.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The Tech bulletins have several times indicated that this has been resolved, even if it has not.

We are getting reports that this still may be an issue, have anyone got this to work on Win7 64 bit?

Try this:

After the installation go to telephone and modem options.
Remove the Tapi2 line.
Put it back in and try again.

If I remove it, the reinstallation dialog is empty if I press 'Add...'? How do I get i back in? By a complete reinstall?

OK, I found it now. Had some blank lines first for some reason.

What is the purpose of doing this?

When you remove it then it stops the service.
By adding it again it starts the service again.
When you install tapi on a server then you always need to reboot the server.
Doing it this way you do not have to reboot anymore.
That has nothing to do with this issue but sometimes it fixes these kind of problems.

The blank lines are a symptom of a poor TAPI installer program. The TAPI entries are held in the registry and created in a numerical order. if you add the IPO tapi driver, then add another and then remove the IPO tapi driver, the isnatller doesn't re-index the tapi entries correctlt.

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

OK, nice to know.

As I am running 32-bit Vista I still need feedback from anyone running 64bit Windows 7?

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit and it works just fine on mine...In 1st party. When trying 3rd party I cannot get it to work for some reason.

3rd party TAPI is licensed, do you have the correct license?

Thank you for your feedback, I will bring that back to our customer.

Yes I have a CTI Link Pro license but no joy.

I am going to a site on Monday and try my luck with Win7 64 bit and Office 2010
If I don't forget then I will post here the results.

The outlook you're running is probably 32-bit the OS is 64-bit.

Try this;

Sorry completely forgot to post
Yes it worked on most PC's but some needed the registry hack, identical machines and different ways to make it work. Thanks Microsoft

I have 3rd party working now too. We use Office Communicator so it tries to take over the dialing services from TAPI but you can change that in registry. I've not had to do anything to get it working on Windows 7 64-bit when not using Office Communicator.
