Hello

We have an issue we have just purchased a ML310 and a 642 raid card to control 3 scsi disks.

When we boot it starts moaning that we should check the power to the card, but does see it, we have moved it between PCI slots but no change also we cannot get into ORCA to partiton a logical drive. Is this likely to be a controller issue or something else.

Any help would be great!

Cheers

I seem to remember that on ML330's etc. you had to tell the firmware specifically to boot from the RAID card rather than the on-board SCSI.

See if there is any option for this.
If there isn't get your dealer to swap out the 642 under warranty and see if that helps.

yeah you press f8 on boot and tell it to look at the 642 instead but no change.

We got a new card from HP under warranty but no change i will have another play!!!

cheers
