When adding these new sets, as soon as the serial number appears to be read (seen by status-ing station)the phone set goes wacky. Incoming calls drop as soon as the call is answered. When initiating a call, the line appearance has to be pressed to get dialtone, and then it goes only to speaker and not to handset..
Have already checked the following items:
All activity in statusing station (all fine)
nothing activated
Type = 6416D+ (no alias's assigned)
No headset activated or programmed
-- have tried moving the phone to a different station /different port/different card and same issue as soon as it status's to see connected type.
Anyone have any ideas... Help................
Thanks
Lana

This may be a set issue. Try swapping out the set. Also double check your programing. One last thought, this is wired up on a single digital port?

Hope this helps.

Checked each of the boards -- each phone (of the 7 with problems) is on a different board. No common problem there. Another interesting thing is that the serial number that the switch is reading and loading onto the second page of a status station is different than the serial number on the phone itself. I have checked all programming -- all looks fine. I am going to send the phones back to my vendor and get replacement sets without the "M" and all should be fine.. UNLESS anyone else has any ideas or has had this issue before???
This is definately a first for me.

Hello...

You say that calls are dropping as soon as they are answered... i had that problem but didn't actually relate it to 6416D+M phones. Am currently investigating Abnormal ISDN drops under Event 1166.

Can you have a look at your Events (DISP EVENTS) and the Category Denial and Event Type 1166 to see if you are experiencing these too. if you are (And i hope you're not) then that gives me something else to look at.

Thanx.

Donna,
I do have some abnormal drops (1166 D2=CV) - approx 50 of them yesterday.
Are you using "M" sets? If so, will you check something for me..... Find an "M" station, and run a stat stat on it, on second page (with serial number) see if the serial number in status matches the S/N on the set itself. For some reason I think there is a problem with the download status in reading it, and therefore is throwing errors out (at least in my case).. Dont know if ours have anything in common, but its worth a shot...
