64 bit vs 32 bit and mixed environment???

My system originaly was S70 (8 processors) AIX 4.3.3 and IDS 7.3 and is crashed. I need new one and question is:
what model of p650 is good enough to support 4 instances of IDS (about 2 GB per database - 4 databases)?
Second question is:
If i put 64 bit AIX and 64-bit Informix and on small branch servers i have 32-bit AIX and 32 bit Informix. They must make replications over the night. Did someone have experience with similar environment?

Sorry, no experience with your replication issue, but I will tell you the jump from 32 to 64 bit can be troublesome under certain circumstance and required a lot of prework for my shop.
