I've not had luck with this but I now have Win7 64bit, and 32bit Office 2010. I have a 64 bit application (SPSS V20) that is cranky because the drivers are 32 bit...

Anyone have success in running a mixed office driver environment? - My one attempt failed miserably.

Any problems with Office 2010 64 bit?

Any other thoughts, workarounds etc?

The conventional wisdom is use Office 64 bit or 32 bit version of the application. Unfortunately the IT department has decided to support these apps so I have little chance in going to an 'unsupported' version.

I run Win 7 64bit and Office 32bit , I tried with Office 64bit but it wouldn't work properly and MS at the time didn't even recommend using 64bit Office.

I've tried to run 64bit Access 2010 runtime but it wouldn't install because the Office was 32bit, I've given up with 64bit Access & Office for the foreseeable future, it gave me more trouble than I believe any performance boost may have given.

If you manage to get a mixmode environment working let us know!

To be clear, I have a 64 bit application that I want to use 64 bit ODBC to export to Access database... As for performance, due to the nature of IT control here, 64 bit OS is the worst decision I have made in along time. It would take serious arm twisting to get the 32 bit version of said application... Like I might as well figure out how to script the relational data out to CSV's using python and write a loop to import in Access difficult in acquiring.

To be fair 64 bit is bad because I only have 4GB of Ram (on a single stick... no dual-channel) and most apps are 32 bit... So the less than 1GB of extra Ram use I have (in theory it is 1 GB), does not give me a performance gain in comparison to my previous 32 bit machine. My personal 64 bit Vista laptop seems fine though... That's the difference in me being in complete control over the system vs. not.

That is exactly the issue. That is well out of my budget of Free though. [sadeyes]
Microsoft should buy it and offer it for free download.

I'll have to look at this later, perhaps much later, but it seems that the ODBC Bridge is the way to go. Many thanks. I just wish there was a MS or GNU solution - must be a real pain to write this software. Meanwhile, I may poke people with a stick that still have 32 bit Windows from time to time.
