It is said that AIX is 64-bit enabled since version 4.3, and the primary advantage to using more bits is in gaining addressability for more memory.
However, does this advantage only applies, when you have AIX 4.3 (or later) running on 64-bit hardware?
What about running AIX 4.3 (or later) on 32-bit hardware? What do you gain from doing that?
Appreciate if someone could enlighten me on the above.
