I know virutally nothing about Goldmine.

I have a client on 6.5 and we are looking at a server replacement.

This is only a 3 user office.

At first I was going to replace their Windows 2000 file server with a NAS drive since it seemed the only thing they really needed was a file server.

I checked and found that Goldmine 6.5 is discontinued and that the new version is SQL.

So my question is what do I need to be able to upgrade to the new version of Goldmine in the future. Do I have to have SQL server?

Dear Paul

When you purchase the upgrade to GoldMine Corporate or Premium (I would recommend Premium) SQL Server is included in the cost of the licences.

I would recommend you contact your local GoldMine partner for more advice on upgrading to the latest version.

Hope this helps.

I would strongly recommend that you contact a GoldMine Partner. An upgrade from GoldMine 6.5 to GoldMine Premium is not a straight shot. You must upgrade to GoldMine 6.70.70226 prior to your upgrade to GoldMine Premium. Your GoldMine Partner is the only one that can help you through this upgrade path.
