Any chance i am going to be able to back up my BCM 400 with 4.0 on it in a 6/2 split. Wipe the system clean and start it back up in a 5/3 split and reload the programing?

I am obviously trying to gain more resources in order to add more IP phones. If this is not the correct procedure, i'm open to suggestions.

TIA

Backup anyway just in case things go wrong.

You should not lose anything if going forward from 6/2 to 5/3.
If it was in reverse you would lose the lot.
6/2 only allows 16 ip phones
5/3 increases this but you loose a Bus Resource to compensate

After changing the split you loose bus 7.
If your lines are on this Bus then you will have to set the card to Bus 6 and change the Dipswitch accordingly.

It's really easy going forward. Just choose the 3/5 split, it will give you a warning pop up, go through it. The only problem I've had is someone jumping on an IP tel before all the tels have come up. So do it after hours when no one will use a telephone. Even then a reboot will fix any issues.
