I have a client with MICS T1/R1 wanting to go to a T1, PRI.
I was ordering 7.1 when I saw a good price from a reputable reseller for 6.1

Any known problems with 6.1? versus 7.1
I know some earlier s/w is suspect.
I couldn't find any real details in the Forum.

It's a pretty vanilla system. 50 phones.
NAM II Upgrade also (2.2 to 4.1) etc.

I was going to float a new cabinet... then at night connect old modules and NAM and fire it up & T1 card to get Sys.ID for PRI enable. Then pre-program the system and Voicemail, Cut-Over a few days later and port the numbers and New DID's.

Doesn't that sound kind of streamlined versus knocking the client out of service all day or working all weekend?

I Trust the opinions on this Forum, thanks

I have found the 6.1 to be very stable, I have several customers with 6.1 no problems.

7.1 fixed some minor issues plus it has the DST time adjustment so you dont have to change the time twice a month.

You need to make sure it's 6.1MR not just 6.1, same thing where the MR fixed issues.

"time adjustment so you dont have to change the time twice a month."

Did you mean twice a YEAR?

What is the part number of 6.1 and 6.1MR (both) if you have them. How can I tell them apart?

CLARIFICATION

I had a Reseller write:

1)NAMs Voicemails are NOT COMPATIBLE with 7
Software.
2)NAM is discontinued so if you using 7.1 software
you will need to have Call pilot 100 or 150.
I don't think he was just "pushing" a CP Sale, but this is
what he understands.

I prefer a NAM II for this installation and estimated to the client as much.

ANYONE know for sure if NAMs Voicemails are NOT COMPATIBLE with 7 Software ?

I know a NAM must be s/w rel 4.1 to work with a MICS 6.1, don't know about 7.0 & 7.1

I'm running a 4.1 NAM on a 7.1XC switch with no problems.
