Thanks Brian, I finally found the compatability chart. Problem is those things are next to impossible to read. I thought it said 4.1 but wasn't sure.

So far my 4.0 NAM will work. Though of course the features of CVM and CAA won't work and maybe others but the NAM comes up fine. Just my experience mind ya. Oh, you would still need the redirect dn setting to be changed as with 5.0.

One addition to this post though I need to make. Exsmogger is correct. You should upgrade. Plus COS editing is now a tad bit easier since you can do it from the phone.
It's so cheap to upgrade the NAM to 4.1 though since you don't need a keycode that I can't understand why someone wouldn't go ahead and make the upgrade. I only reported what I saw with a NAM 4.0 on a KSU 6.0.

It is my experience that if you have a 4.0 3G NAM you do not need the upgrade Key codes, for you are already authorized for the upgrade to 4.1. If you do enter the authorization keys it will simply say duplicate keys. But you are welcome to spend the money. All you need to buy is the NTAB3388 4.1 software package. It's about as expensive as a computer game, actually cheaper than Battle Field 1942. But this is just my experience with upgrading 4.0 3G NAMs.

A software CD and a NVM 4.1 documentation & Client S/W CD come in the NTAB3388 along with a boot disk etc.
Normally in an upgrade process like lets say a NAM 3.0 upgrade, you would use the "expensive" upgrade keycode package NTAB3391 too. This has the authorization number you use to call and get your key code. The Key code gives you "permission" to upgrade your NAM software with the other package.(NTAB3388)
What is your current NAM? Is it a 3G NAM? This would mean 4.0 software. You merely use the "cheaper" software package. This is the just software package. Just attach your backpack with 4.1 in it and boot the NAM on the provided boot disk.
Be sure to back up your VM programming and also the SEKUR/capablities file before this procedure just to be safe.

Thank you for your clear answer to this. I am not sure which nams I have running but they are all 4.0xxxx now so I think the 3388 should do it. LIke you said, this one is the cost of a game!!
I dont think it makes a difference what version you have.
I have yet to see a free upgrade of any software from Nortel(but not to say it doesnt exist) and the manual clearly states you MUST enter a key code to upgrade to 4.1.
I have upgraded a few NAMS but cannot remember if any were 4.0 to start but would think not.
I have put the question to Nortel yesterday and will let you know their response...in the mean time hopefully Redhawk will be back soon to further explain for us.
I would think that the only way for free is if it were a patch.
