6.0.8 to 6.0.18 "unknown digital handsets" for 1408/1416

An installer did a software upgrade on a IPO500V2 from 6.0.8 to 6.0.18. System rebooted, 1408/1416 phones pulled new firmware (now sitting at release 4), and the system is up and running.

But.

there are a combination of 1408 and 1416's on the sytems (around 25), and in manager, only some of the users are showing as having 1416's (about 6-7) and ALL the rest of the users and also their associated extensions (combination of 1416 and all the 1408's) show as "unknown digital handset".

SSA shows the correct phone's on the correct ports, but manager doesn't.

This is not affecting how things work, but any ideas why this is happening?

The phones that show unknown digital handset, are they on the same DS xx module? Also, check the module's SW load versus the control unit. If not, maybe a license issue?

The phones that show as unknown digital handsets are scattered across all 4 modules

There are 4 modules, 2 analog trunk combo cards and digsta8 cards. All show as the same software, 6.0(18). The interesting part is that the only phones which show correctly are on the digsta8 cards... all phones, regardless of type on the combo cards show as unknown digital handset.

I don't think it's a license issue. No license issue previous, and 6.0.8 to 6.0.18 isn't a paid upgrade.

I've seen my trial R7 Manager do this kind of thing to users after making a change. It seems to lose what type of phone it has. Hasn't effected anything, so I honestly didn't lose any sleep at all over it!!!

Didn't notice it on R6 or R6.1 Manager though.

Get the installer to log it with Avaya if your worried about it.

Jamie, yesterday i saw some starnge things in 7.0 after upgrade the ipdect.
All extension id's where duplicated withni the alarm section
The unknown digital handset error is there for the 54xx series in quick mode.
They give the same error.
