Have a customer IP500v2 on 9.1 with 56xx IP sets, they are looking to virtualize to R11, I see some issues with 54xx/56xx sets on R10.2 SP2. Can anyone confirm 56xx work on R11, including the feature buttons?

Thx, Was this tested by you intrigrant?

I see a patch was issued for digital 24xx sets to make them work on 10.1 SP2, curious to know if it's simply the firmware is missing for 56xx sets or if they are completely broken on R11. (like feature/programmed buttons don't work) There are a crap load of customers with 56xx and 54xx sets.

They do 'work' but not supported. 24xx say they are supported but I've also been told by Avaya pre sales that they are not.

10.1.2 broke the buttons on these sets, but R11 they seem OK again.

Not supported, but no other upgrade path on an older system that R10+ now so no choice for older customers at all unless they fork out for all new phones. At that point they start looking at other systems so could lose the customer altogether.

We experience different, only customers who are already in the process of changing system will do so. It is just a trigger for them.
But it is depending on your company to keep the customer by advising them and sell another system.
Most customers who change system wants to migrate to a "cloud" solution which is told to be far superiour above a home system which is (depending on their needs) in most cases not true.
We provide cloud solutions too and can choose from a mix of brands but onle the expensive ones can deliver what they promise, but then the price is higher in the long term as upgrading the IPO and buying new sets.

Good insight here. Curious, What is the expensive one that delivers what they promise?
