Ok I was playing with the VPN firmware upgrades and something went awry and I now have a few IP phones that have the VPN software on it that are not suppose to have it. is there a way to roll back the firmware?
Sure.
Boot up the phone and wait for * to program
press * and keep pressing # until "enter command" appears
press HOLD GROUP #
enter a zero and #
press HOLD CLEAR #
phone reboots
Wait until the phone tries to make a VPN Connection
press on edit en set the BOOT mode to off ( no VPN Start )
reboot the phone connected to a LAN were a tftp server is active with the appropriate bin files and 46xxupgrade and 46xxsettings files are available ( ipo manager )
Depending on the network you can use DHCP or set fixed ip addresses in the phone.
Start up the phone and the phone will load the 46upgrade.txt file, in that file it compares its own firmware version with the version listed in the file and if it differs it starts to load the correct firmware from the tftp server.
Well when I go into edit on the VPN screen it gives me all the types of VPN devices I can configure but does not give me an option to to turn boot mode off unless I go into on of the devices then there is an option to "start vpn" disable but the the phone seems to get stuck on the *program Phone.
Was I being impatient and should I have left it cycle a few times?
