IS-IT--Management
Good day,
We have just picked up a 5620 and a 4620 for our site and they are both giving me Finding Router as soon as they are plugged in and then Bad Router after trying for a long time.
There is a DHCP server that should be giving these phones an address automatically (it gives the phone on my desk a reserved address which is configured in it), it should also be giving the phone config information through the scope options
The DHCP also has the two scope options 176 and 242 configured,
176 MCIPADD=172.17.0.50,MCPORT=1719,TFTPSRVR=172.17.0.50,PROCSTAT=0,PROCPSWD="27238"
242
MCIPADD=172.17.0.50,MCPORT=1719,HTTPSRVR=172.17.0.50,PROCSTAT=0,PROCPSWD="27238"
As there is not an address assigned by this DHCP server I'm guessing the phone has not been set up to use DHCP or somehow it is not able to contact the DHCP server.
When manually programmed with the standard settings the phone works OK and contacts the IPO etc.
We did put a lot in to ensure the phone is able to get its settings from DHCP and two phones at our site do this and have addresses assigned by DHCP reservation but for some reason this phone is not doing it.
I tried Mute Clear # but it has not changed the situation for contacting DHCP. Guess I will have to try sniffing traffic to see what it is doing when it tries to find the router?
