Hey gang,
Got a question on running a 5610SW IP as a VPN phone. I have a IP500 R4.2(4) with a sonicwall TZ190 VPN router setup for the remote phones. The phones will connected up to the system and seems to be working properly but after a few minutes the phones lock up and resets the VPN connection about every 5 min. The customer has a 4.5 Meg internet connection so I dont think there is a lack of bandwith, however when I ping any of the VPN extensions with System Status I get anywhere for 104 to 109 milliseconds round trip time with no packet loss. Is this alot? I'm starting to think the Sonicwall VPN router is not setup correctly. Could this be a matter of proper connectivity due to too many hops from switch to switch? I'm not sure where else to look. Any help would be great!

Sounds like the lifetime is set too short. make it a long as you can. right now it is probably 300 seconds. then it resets.

I have the customer network guy looking at the setup. I do have the articles above and have used them for the setup of the system and Sonicwall. Thanks for the help guys!

Attempting to setup a VPNremote phone but having difficulty getting the VPN bin loaded on the phone. The phone is in the 876 group and the following lines have been added to the 46xxupgrade.scr file. It's hard to determine where the process is failing partially because the phone displays move so quickly through the steps. But I do recall seeing a HTTP and TFTP failure. Can someone point me in the right direction, and possibly, for future steps, copy their 46..vpnsetting.txt file.

Thanks

Did you put all the VPN files into the TFTp server you are using. i have found all you have to do is move the files and add those lines and be done with it. what version manager are you using. there were some issues with the 4.1 files. the 4.2 seem to work.
