IP500 v 4.0.5 with 5610's. I have 2 users set up as hotdesks. Yesterday, one left for lunch & when he came back, his speed dials had vanished. He logged out and logged back in and they still weren't there. He was at his base extension. Any thoughts?

Not to my knowledge. Here's a supid question, but I haven't done many hotdesks....If the user is a hotdesk user shouldn't the speed dials follow him? (the actual speeddials, not the button programming)

for all the IP Phones i believe the personal speed dials are held on the phones memory. so logging them in and out might erase that memory, so the next person that logs in does not have access to any of the previous persons speed dials.

gknight1,
If it is his base ext and no-one else logs into his phone (he does go to other phones to log in, but no-one uses his office/phone but him, he's the VP), wouldn't the speeddials stay? It's very odd. The numbers were there, the fellow went to lunch and when he came back they were gone?! He's been h/d for a while now, and this has never happend before....

has he been hot desking with a 5610 for a while, or did he have a different phone before.

is this happening everytime he logs out of his phone?

if it happened once or twice, i would say the phone came unplugged or may be the ip rebooted which caused the phone to reboot.

gknight1,
Always been 5610. Never happened before. If the phone or system rebooted while he was logged in at his base ext, I can understand he would need to log back in, but why would that kill his speeddials? Doesn't make sense to me

it doesnt matter if he is logged in or out, if the phone is unplugged it will lose his speed dials, this is also the case if you reboot the ipo. when you reboot the ipo all ip phones also reboot.

thanks

Did you check CAs ?

I am sure if you do not have any CA Speed Dials stop working (despite you continue make/receive calls).

All buttons on the phone are good. The speed dials have disappeared....

IP Phones need an FTP/HTTP server to backup the Speeddials with an 100_4610.txt

Every time you login it restore,s its settings....
