5610 not booting after 4.2.11 upgrade

406v2 and 5610 phone. Latest firmware on the phone also.

Phone won't boot using DHCP. It gets stuck at a screen that says [Finding router...].

Control unit is serving DHCP.

If I statically assign IP addresses to the phone then it will boot but only if I assign the control unit as the router for the phone (If I assign my actual network router's IP then I get the same [Finding router...] screen on the phone.)

Router= is displayed. This is the address of the phone's default gateway. To accept the current
value, press # or enter a value and then press #.
• For IP Office operation, this is the IP address of the IP Office Unit.

that is from the IP Phone installation manual, as you can see that's how it supposed to work.
