Hi,

I have struggled all day today without luck to get MWI on a Mitel 5610 DECT handset working.

Either the handset does not support MWI or I am missing something obvious!

I can see the SIP logs on the 5610 interface have received a message but the handset fails to display one.

Any ideas welcome.

(3300 MCD 5.0-SP1 and 5610 on latest firware)

voicemail message. is indicated by a missed call then new voicemail displayed on handset

I just got my hands on a 5610 and have the same problem. We are using a Nupoint server and mwi type of mitail messaging but the phone doesn't get anything. Not sure exactly whay Waldosworld means. If I click on the missed calls it just shows who called and don't see any mwi indication. If it does work, what would it look like (some flashing icon is suppose). Thanks.

If you can't find a fix, you could try using the 5610's extension for a notification number in the mailbox, so it calls the extension as a workaround.

Try the following, hope this helps

To configure a handset to receive voicemail message waiting indication:
1. Log into the IP-DECT Stand Configurator Web interface. See page 7 for instructions.
2. Access the VoIP Account of the handset.
3. Enter the directory number of the handset in the “Account Mailbox” field.
4. Enter the directory number of the voicemail auto attendant (the number that you call to connect to
the voice mail service) in the “Account Mailbox Number” field.
5. Enter the IP address of the 3300 ICP in the “Registrar field”.
6. Set the “DTMF Signaling” field to “RFC2833”.
7. Click Save.
8. Click Reboot.

With these settings, the stand subscribes to the 3300 ICP to get MWI notifications for the directory
number (Account Mailbox). When a voicemail message is left, a MWI notification is sent. After you
navigate the handset voicemail menu and press "Play", the handset calls (speed dials) the voicemail
service (Account Mailbox Number).

Since I"m using Nupoint there is no option for 'notification number' as 619Tech has suggested. I've followed the documentation which is what MrMitel has posted and doesn't work. Only difference is that in step 3 mine says 'account mailbox name' as there is no field called 'account mailbox'. When doing a locate feature on the 3300 I can see the lights go on and off with Mitai Messaging and DTMF to PBX but there is just nothing every shown on the handset other than 'missed call'.

I have used vm to email as a workaround, customer seems to prefer that anyway.
