Hie to you all.
Have noticed all along that if the 5550ip console (V3.4) is installed on either Vista or Windows 7 it fails to show the top line that carries: >File - Calls - Directories -Tools - Program - Help < which normally shows just under the topmost blue line with the red X on the top right hand side corner.

I have always resorted to downgrading the operating software on the PC to windows XP. Now it is such that clients have been encouraged to use windows 7 as it is said Microsoft doesn't support XP anymore.

My question is how do I make the mentioned line;>File - Calls - Directories -Tools - Program - Help < show when the 5550 is installed on Vista or windows 7?

All ideas & advice welcome.

Thanks.

run it under XP compatability mode? or in a XP virtual machine.....

Oh and it probably needs to run as an administrator as well

What 3300 software are you running?
I thought this had been corrected in later versions

Using software MCD4.1 PC user account will be adminstrator.Wireman50 could you please expandon this: run it under XP compatability mode? or in a XP virtual machine. Will be happy if you can give details A-Z.

You should be able to use rel 3.7.0.2 with 4.1 and rel 4.0.0.17 with 4.1 sp1

I would try upgrading to these first

Compatability mode is when you right click the .exe and run choose select compatability run the test and then run the 5550 if all is well you then click next and windows applies compability setting to the program.
As for the Virtual machine you need Win7 Prof and above this is a XP VM which you could run the software in. It is OK for odd programs but not as the main application the the machine

Hi All. I had this problem today. Just to let you know the 'run in xp compatibility mode' worked a treat
