I have a 3300 MXe running 4.0 SP2 with a 5550 console. The console was originally set up at a personal user's workstation which is logged on/off, restarted, etc. on a daily basis (i.e. not the ideal installation).

We don't have a receptionist in the traditional sense that would be stationed at the console all day to take full advantage of the 5550, calls to this are instead re-routed to various users and a cordless phone if not answered initially. The only thing they even use the 5550 for I found, is for manually changing Day/Night service at the beginning and end of their shifts.

Of course the problem having it on a user's normal workstation, is that when 5550 console is closed such as logging off or restarting, it puts the system into Night 1 service. I wanted to know if it was possible to disable this feature of the console and instead leave the system in Day service even when the console on the PC is closed.

Never tried this but if you have tenanting set the console as tenant 2 and i would think when it is shut down restarted it would only affect tenant 2. Use the schedule option to change the day,n1,n2 routing or use dialed night service from another phone.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Rrplace the 5550 with an IP set that has buttons for day and night on it. Sounds like the console is causing more problems than it is fixing if it is not being used
