Hi, looking for advice on setting up LACP on a 5520 via Enterprise Switch Manager/Device Manager. It looks straight forward but not knowing Nortel terribly well I want to check before I do. I'm going to connect 2 ports to a WiFi controller for aggregation.

The LACP tab I would tick 'AdminEnabled' to enable LACP then I assume in 'ActorAdminKey' I would assign a value to which I'd assign to all ports that I want to aggregate eg '5'. What about the 'ActorAdminState' options - 'lacpActive', 'aggregation' and 'shortTimeout' - what needs to be enabled??

Is that all there is to it? I've seen a few examples of enabling it via CLI and it looks to be a bit more involved that what I can see in Device Manager.

From memory, doing it via the JDM was indeed simpler than doing it via the CLI. Always check (via CLI) what config is produced when you do stuff via JDM, though.
I think creating MLTs on a pair of 1600s just didn't work via JDM and I had to do it via CLI, but I don't recall evern having trouble on 5520s.

Looking into this I found this doc from Avaya
It basically steps you through the CLI or JDM ways to do it. The example is on an 8600 whereas I have a 5520.

Going to the 'VLAN -> MLT/LACP -> Multilink/LACP Trunks' menu and setting up the pairing is fine. But then it says go to the 'VLAN -> MLT/LACP -> LACP' but there is no entry made by what I did on the previous tab.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure it shoudl appear on both.

In the config, setting up an MLT should give you something like:

mlt 1 name "Trunk #1" enable member 1/47-48,2/47-48 learning normal
mlt 1 learning normal

Yeah, I've had a look at some other MLTs setup and they don't have it in the LACP tab either. But following the book from Avaya/Nortel it says it should. Maybe they don't know their own product :(
