Hey people,

I had 2 stacks of 5520's (each with 3 switches), connected with ISTs and a couple uplinks to our 8600s. One stack was having some odd issues and we decided to remove it entirely and put our dual-hommed (SMLT) connections over to one stack, and convert them to MLTs (to at least have port and cable redundancy without stack redundancy). I've been having issues adding these servers into this configuration (Servers worked perfectly prior to this change in an smlt format, and had HP-NIC teaming, with switch-assisted load balancing enabled).

I was using JDM to configure the mlts, by:
double clicking each port, adding it to the right vlan (6), untagall, disabling spanning-tree, autonegotiate, and adminstatus up.
Created the mlt (called mlt-test), added both port members (which added vlan6 into the mlt), changed loadbalancing to advanced, and put enabled=true, disabled STP on both.

We're running firmware 5.1.1 (the latest), haven't had these issues on other 5520's we have (same firmware). The MLT came up as an access link (which I believe is correct). I went back into each port, under the smlt tab, and it had the port listed in the MLTid tab (which I again believe is correct),

I've tried enabling & disabling STG on the mlts and without (although it should be without as far as I know). When doing testing, after configuring the MLTs I added one port by itself (which didn't work), both ports (which didn't work), tried configuring the mlt on different ports with different cables, then using a different server (one being Server 2003 64-bit, the other server 2008), changing loadbalancing to basic, all with no luck. The logs showed the port (when in SMLT) going down, but no link-trap for it coming up when plugged into the MLT (although the port showed green in JDM). Show tech, show running-config and show system verbose didn't show me anything too weird, but I could be missing something?

I'm hoping somebody has a few suggestions of things to check because I'm seriously running out of things to try. See anything wrong with how I've configured it?

Thanks for your time,

Tim
